Willimasport Sungazette Article Community Corner - Going Above & Beyond

I have a story that needs to be heard. I have a little dog, a Chihuaha, almost 10 years old, she is like a child to me. Loyalsock Animal Hospital is my vet. My little Molly was having stomach pain and I knew she was sick. I took her down on Feb 7; she had spit up blood. Dr. John P Broshkevitch did a scan and saw something that required a stomach scope. Dr. Mary Lou Beers did one that afternoon; we thought she had cancer.

When I brought her home that night and she woke up from anesthesia, after a little while she started having bloody diarrhea. I called and was put directly to Dr. Beers. Dr. Beers kept in touch with me all that night by phone as I couldn't come right back down at that time because it was starting to snow.

The next morning, she called me and askied if I could bring her down. I live in Jersey Shore and through the night the snow had accumulated 3 to 4 inches and I couldn't get there. I am 82 years old. Dr Beers said, "I'm coming to get her." I gave her directions and she came thorough all that snow and got my baby.

She put her on IV antibiotics and medicine, kept her in the hospital and there was no charge for that service.

My little girl does not have cancer, but has a condition that I have learned how to manage.

I think this vet needs to be recognized for her wonderful caring deed. Also I will give my highest recommendation to Loyalsock Animal Hospital and to Dr. Beers, Dr. Broshkevitch, Dr. Knoebel and to all that caring staff, and they don't overcharge.
